I can’t believe April is here! I know I’ve probably already said this a ton, but wow the year is flying by! I only have a few more weeks left and then I’ll be halfway done my Grad degree 😀 I think I’ll do a half-way through report for you guys 🙂
Anyway, as per Wednesday, read on to see what I can’t wait to get my hands on! This week’s pick sounds like the perfect summer (or end of school) read!
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine, where you can highlight upcoming releases that you are eagerly anticipating!
What I’m waiting on:
The Land 0f 10,000 Madonnas by Kate Hattemer
Synopsis (via GoodReads): Five teens backpack through Europe to fulfill the mysterious dying wish of their friend.
Jesse lives with his history professor dad in a house covered with postcards of images of the Madonna from all over the world. They’re gotten used to this life: two motherless dudes living among thousands of Madonnas. But Jesse has a heart condition that will ultimately cut his life tragically short. Before he dies, he arranges a mysterious trip to Europe for his three cousins, his best friend, and his girlfriend to take after he passes away. It’s a trip that will forever change the lives of these young teens and one that will help them come to terms with Jesse’s death.
- The blurb drew me in so fast! It sounds like a great equal parts adventure story, equal parts healing story. I’m very interested to see how this story will be written POV wise too!
- I’m also interested in seeing where the characters travel too and be able to experiences these European countries/cities.
- And those Madonna postcards! What is all that about?! I must know!
- Also that title and cover?! Yup, yup I’m definitely interested in reading this story haha
